BORG DE NOBEL

Intuitive Dutch painter Borg De Nobel paints on the boundary of dreams. She is a lover of words and a seeker of inspiration in all facets of life; she mixes and smears, brushes, and scrapes, until her eclectic representations of distilled memory, emotion, and belonging are complete.

"The freedom not to know what I'm doing makes it all the more interesting. "

De Nobel's images derive from a place where primitive schema and sophisticated colors combine to become metaphors for lived and imagined experiences. Her work has an "in-your-face" quality, intentionally de-schooled and vibrant with forcefully painted surfaces. There are echoes of neo-expressionism and Punk Rock, updated with cautious optimism, subtle humor, and empathy. read more
